Privacy Policy
Bookly AI is built with privacy as a first principle. We don't collect, sell, or share your data — because we never see it in the first place.
- Your bookmarks stay in your browser. We never see or store them on any server.
- Your API key is saved only in your local browser storage — never transmitted to us.
- AI requests send only the page title and URL to Google or Anthropic (your choice). Never full page content.
- We collect zero analytics, zero telemetry, and use zero third-party tracking.
- You can delete all extension data at any time from
chrome://extensions.

How Your API Key is Protected
Your AI provider API key is stored exclusively in chrome.storage.local — a sandboxed storage area accessible only to Bookly AI. It is never transmitted to our servers (we have none), never included in any analytics, and never shared with any third party other than the AI provider you've explicitly configured.
Analytics & Tracking
Bookly AI collects zero analytics. We do not use:
- ✕ Google Analytics or any analytics SDK
- ✕ Error reporting or crash logging services
- ✕ Session recording or heatmapping tools
- ✕ Advertising or retargeting pixels
- ✕ Remote configuration or feature flag services

- ✓ Remove your API key — Open Settings in the extension and clear the API key field, then save.
- ✓ Disable AI features — Toggle off AI Features in Settings to stop all external requests.
- ✓ Use on-device AI only — Enable Chrome's built-in AI to process everything locally with no network calls.
Children's Privacy
Bookly AI is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided data through this extension, please contact us and we will take steps to address it.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and publish a new version to the Chrome Web Store listing. Continued use of Bookly AI after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
We will never change this policy in a way that reduces your privacy protections without explicit notice and, where required, your consent.
